An art print as a wedding gift: the present that stands out
Wedding registries all look alike: sheets, pans, gift vouchers. And then you find yourself looking for something that means more, something that stays.
A fine art print might be the most honest answer to that.
Why art rather than an ordinary gift?
A wedding gift should ideally outlast the moment: the moves, the children, the houses that change. An image on a wall stays part of the decor for years and ends up belonging to the couple's story in a way no toaster can claim.
Choosing an image is also a way of saying: I thought about you, not about a list.
How to choose the right print
Two questions are enough: where will they hang it, and what size makes sense?
For a hallway, a bedroom or an entrance, 30 × 40 cm is ideal — present without dominating. For a living room or a main wall, a large size (50 × 70 cm or 43.2 × 63.2 cm) has real presence, the kind you notice as soon as you walk in.
Style matters too: in a pared-back interior, a clear composition holds better; in a house full of life, a richer image keeps revealing details over the years.
Signed and numbered prints
My current prints are made in Brussels on Canson Arches 88 paper (310 to 330 gsm), numbered and signed by hand, in editions of 10 or 20. Not an industrial reproduction: a rare piece whose meaning doesn't wear out. Each print comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Four prints that suit the occasion
Comme tu disais: one of the most requested prints in the shop. A soft, contemplative image, a body asleep in its sheets, which finds its place in many homes. 32.9 × 48.3 cm (€70) or 43.2 × 63.2 cm (€130).
Bengaluru: an interior overtaken by plants, generous and luminous. For a couple who love growing things. 43.2 × 63.2 cm, €140.
Ce qui croît de travers: a more singular composition, for people who like things slightly off-kilter. Editions of 10 per size, 30 × 40 cm (€70) or 50 × 70 cm (€130).
Inventaire d'une présence: an image about what accumulates in a shared life — the objects, the habits. 30 × 40 cm (€70) or 42 × 56 cm (€130).
Something even more personal?
Some weddings deserve particular attention. To give an original painting, or simply to talk it through before choosing, write to me. Those conversations often lead to the best gifts.
Keep the calendar in mind: orders ship on the 1st and the 15th of each month.
In short
A limited edition art print is a wedding gift that lasts and that shows the care taken in choosing it. It's rare on a registry — which is exactly why it works.
